Events - 2025 State Conference Join Us for the 2025 AWA State Art Exhibit and Conference at the Center for the Visual Arts in Wausau. The Association of Wisconsin Artists (AWA) is proud to announce that the 2025 State Art Exhibit and Conference will be held at the wonderful galleries of the Center for the Visual Arts, located at 427 N 4th Street in downtown Wausau. This annual celebration of creativity brings together artists of all ages and backgrounds, showcasing work from across the state. WRAP–Teen and WRAP–Kids Exhibit Exhibition Dates: July 16 – August 8 Awards Reception: August 8, 7:00–9:00 PM Young artists from across Wisconsin will have their work on display during the WRAP–Teen and WRAP–Kids Exhibition. The closing Awards and Reception on August 8 will be a highlight for participants, their families, and educators. Doors will open early to allow guests to view the exhibition, enjoy refreshments, and take part in engaging art activities. We are especially excited to welcome Cindy Morris, the exhibit ’s juror, who will present awards and offer critiques to the young artists. Cindy ’s thoughtful insights provide an important learning opportunity and encouragement for emerging talent. Adult WRAP and Tiny Treasures State Exhibit Exhibition Dates: August 13 – September 27 State Day Reception & Awards: September 27, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM The adult WRAP State Exhibit will open mid-August and culminate in a full-day State Day event on September 27. Doors open at 9:00 AM for registration and early viewing of the exhibit, followed by a day of art, conversation, and inspiration. This year ’s featured speakers include: • Berel Lutsky, Professor of Art Emeritus at UW–Green Bay, presenting Really Big Prints – Large Scale Printmaking. Berel will share the story behind this extraordinary biennial event in Two Rivers, WI, which uses a steamroller to create massive relief prints. Don ’t miss this fascinating look at process, scale, and creativity in action. • Joye Moon, our juror, is a renowned watercolorist and author of Exploring Textures in Watercolor. A signature member of the National Watercolor Society and several state societies, Joye brings decades of expertise and infectious enthusiasm to her presentations. She ’ll share her work, her practice and insights drawn from teaching across the country and around the world We invite you to join us in the CVA galleries and be part of the vibrant Wisconsin art community.
