AWA Youth Programs

AWA sponsors two programs aimed at generating interest in art at a young age.  The programs are coordinated by AWA members with financial support from AWA.  You can find more information about the programs below or contact youthprograms@wiscartists.org.

Bridging Generations Guidelines

1. "Bridging Generations in a Box" provisions: AWA will provide materials as follows: If needed for exhibit display standard mats size 11” by 14” with opening size 9 1⁄2” by 7 1⁄2”, clear protective sleeve, and an achievement ribbon for each entrant up to 100. A coordinator incentive of $150 is awarded to offset reception and/or hands on workshop art material expenses.

2. Please attach proposed expense budget. Include any materials and coordinator incentive listed above. If grant is approved, expenses will be reimbursed when receipts are presented for AWA Committee Chair and/or AWA Treasurer for review.

3. Allow 90 days for acceptance notification. Questions? Contact Rita Carpenter at bridginggenerations@wiscartists.org.

Bridging Generations Youth Art Exhibit &

Workshop

The year 2004 marked the 50th year for AWA. To celebrate, AWA held the first “Bridging Generations” Youth Exhibit and Auction as a fund raiser for the Wisconsin Regional Art Program (WRAP). The event was conceived to help introduce youth aged 5 through 12 to our organization and to help ensure the future of WRAP. The event was a huge success and it was decided to annually continue the exhibit and move it around the state. Subsequent exhibits and workshops have been held in Middleton, Milton, Madison, Whitewater, Mineral Point, Verona, Platteville and Clinton.

Please consider sponsoring youth who share your interest in art, in this AWA Youth Art Program. Your support will encourage young people to pursue a lifelong interest in art. If you or your art group would like to see this exhibit and workshop continue and move around the state each year, volunteer. We need art groups or individuals who would like to sponsor the event. Planning can begin at any time! For more information contact Rita Carpenter at bridginggenerations@wiscartists.org.
